Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I feel exactly the same about the two groups. I know it was probably impossible once they were on different networks but I was always fascinated to know how they would interact with one another, what Gunn and Lorne and Fred would think of the Scoobies and vice versa, and what the Scoobies would think of the ones they had known before - such as Cordelia and Wesley - who had changed so much. I was grateful for the little bits we got - the amazing Faith arc, Willow in Orpheus, Angel's trips back to Sunnydale in various crossovers, and the Spike interaction with the Fang Gang in S5 of Angel, but more would have been nice and it's annoying that Xander never got to visit LA for a crossover and never got to meet up with Cordy once she was Vivion Girl.
